Wii Fit Plus Review
Wii Fit Plus is here to get you in shape! You may just have a lot of fun at the same time. The new Wii Fit Plus package from Nintendo is an upgrade of the original smash hit released a few years back. The 1st generation Wii Fit sold incredibly well despite many critics not having faith in some video game users often couch potato like habits.
This new version of Wii Fit is a replacement of the original package. If you already own the original Wii Fit with balance board you can get the Wii Fit Plus upgrade for just $19. For new Wii fit users you can get the full package for $99 or at a discount Wii Fit plus price.
Well lets get into the Wii Fit Plus review. This new version is really great and a welcome update to the first version. Since its not a completely different package it can carry over any data and settings you previously used with your 1st generation copy. The Wii Fit Plus offers many more mini games, exercises and loads of great added features. Some of these new features include:
Test & Keep A New Xbox 360 and Kinect FREE!
Suggested and Custom Routines - This time around Wii Fit Plus helps plan routines for you. There are 16 routines, each a few minutes long. If you want to work out your arms, Wii Fit Plus will suggest a few routines that will specifically target your arms. If you want to work on burning that fat and flattening your stomach, then Wii Fit will suggest routines for that too.
What is really cool though is the “My Routine” feature that allows you to string routines together that you decide on. This allows you to make your own custom routine. Lets say you want to work out for 25 minutes, this new feature allows you to put a routine together that will do just that. This can really help those like me that would love to get a great set of workouts down that are about 15 minutes long. That way I can go to the Wii Fit Plus once a day and get in a good quick workout.
Calorie Counter - This is pretty self explanatory. What I like about this feature is that it really starts turning the Wii Fit Plus into an all out diet and exercise program. It tells you the calories you’ve burned after each workout/routine as well as all the calories burned for the day.
Training Plus - This is a new part of the menu that includes 15 new balance games
along with 6 additional exercises that are divided between yoga and strength training.
Baby and Pet Profiles - The Wii Fit Plus has added in a new feature where you can even make a profile for your baby or pets.
For those familiar with the original Wii Fit you’ll find the interface and setup very familiar. All of the old features and games are still there. Even the dreaded BMI counter is back. Although this measurement really is a far cry from the real scientific BMI measurement it can add to the fun, or for some the depression of using Wii Fit Plus.
The only negatives I could see for this Wii Fit Plus review was the same old repetitive trainers. Although in the beginning their guidance and words of encouragement are fun, after a few rounds it become repetitive and tiresome. Also the lack of any sort of online play is really surprising. Nintendo has been great with adding online features to their games and Wii Fit Plus is just screaming for it. I can’t really understand what they were thinking with this but oh well.
All in all the Wii Fit Plus is a great product that comes highly recommended. If you are looking to get in shape, lose some weight or just tone your body the Wii Fit Plus is a great way to do that and have fun at the same time. Just like with many of the Wii titles, Wii Fit Plus can make a great party game as well as personal workout assistant. For those who owned the original it is a no brainer to purchase the new version for just $19. If you are new to the Wii Fit world the $99 price tag or discounted Wii Fit Plus price is well worth it and you won’t regret it. This Wii Fit Plus review gives it a must buy rating!
